Week 2 Capture a digital image /Edit a digital image

1. Watch part of an episode of genius of photography.

2. Follow a demonstration on digital cameras covering Auto function, Image capture size, changing the flash settings, digital zoom and optical zoom, focus and the shutter button.

3. Follow a power point presentation on composition. The main rules to remember are;
Have a strong centre of interest 
Rule of thirds
Diagonal lines
Leading lines
Create depth with repetition of forms or framing
Colour attracts the eye
Every thing you put in the frame is there for a reason.

4. Observe a quick demonstration from your teacher covering Photoshop basics.
5. Follow the exercises from the Photoshop work sheet hand out.
6. Explore Photoshop by using as many of the tools you have discovered from the work sheet to create the weirdest most bizarre image you can.
You can manipulate an existing image or create one from scratch.
Use this exercise to explore Photoshop or show off your existing skills.
7. Save your final image as a JPG high quality and post it to your Blog.
8. Comment upon your image and list the tools you used.

9. After a briefing from your teacher complete the following photo exercise at home.

Home Photo exercise 'Take Photo of yourself'
After a briefing from your teacher take at least 15 photos of yourself.
Bring your photos, camera, charged batteries and your camera chord to the next class.

Week 1 Desktop publishing

1. Use the internet to research and find three advertisements that contain both text and image placement.
Post the selected images to your blog and comment upon their effectiveness.

Week 1

This week you will create your Blog using Blogger.
After a demonstration from your teacher follow the 'create a blog' sheet to create your blog.
Change the design of your blog.
Create a link to the teacher’s blog.
Post an image to your blog and comment upon it.

Use your blog to upload your images and research for each assignment and critique or comment upon them.

After a demonstration from your teacher on colourising a grey scale image, incorporating the brush tool, brush size, layers, colour selection, opacity and layer mode.

Use realistic colour to colour the grey scale image given to you by your teacher.

Repeat the process with your own selected black and white image.

Save the images as jpgs and post them to your blog.... comment upon them.
